Stewardship

We are called to notice each gift God gives, to bless each gift and be grateful. Only then are our hearts prepared to open our hands and share our gifts with God's world.

How will we give thanks to God for all that we have been given? For our financial resources? For our gifts and talents? Sharing some of God's gifts with others, in supporting the work of the church, is an excellent way of giving thanks to God for all he has given us.

Saint Bartholomew's relies on the faithful sharing by church members of their time, talent and treasure. We rely on volunteers to staff almost every facet of the church's day to day operation; and the pledging of financial support by the members of the church, together with donations from worshipers and members of the community, to finance our operations and outreach programs.

Pledging

In order for us to manage our budget, Church members are encouraged to pledge a certain amount on either a weekly or monthly basis to fund the operation of the church for the current financial year. With these pledges, it is possible to plan for a certain level of expenditure and the Vestry is then able to develop and manage an operating budget.

Capital expenditures, which are defined as those expenditures outside of the normal day to day operating budget, are funded from a separate Capital Fund. We are now one year into a three-year Capital Campaign and are accepting pledges of support for our Capital Fund. More details about the Capital Campaign can be found here.
